The Benefits of Membership in the HGC
It's members like you that keep the enthusiasm of Hopkinton Garden Club year after year!
A reminder of the Benefits of Membership: With membership, you'll meet other gardening enthusiasts who each bring their own perspective and talent to our club. You'll also learn from our club programs and guest speakers, get discounts at local and regional nurseries, and benefit from our club passes to New England Botanical Garden in Boylston MA which include reciprocal arrangements with other botanical gardens (2 passes, each for 2 people).
Monthly Member Meetings: Meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of the month at Hopkinton venues. Other events include day trips and excursions to nearby gardens and other places of interest as well as social events at member homes.
Membership basics:
-
Town beautification is the primary mission of our club. We plant and maintain the planters on Main Street and several garden sites in the downtown area for spring, summer and fall. We depend on all of our members to fulfill our commitment.
-
We also form committees to focus on and carry out activities for the community. We encourage members to participate in as many activities as possible. Activities include creating table arrangements for the Veteran's Breakfast, and holiday decorating at the library and Town Common Gazebo, and participating in town events like Family Day in the fall.
-
Our annual plant sale and greens sale are the primary fundraisers for the club. As a member, you'll be expected to engage in the activities for both sales to ensure a successful event. This includes pre- and post-sale, and day of sale.
Our club dues are $30 per year, which runs from July 1 to June 30. If you join after January 1, dues are pro-rated for that year to $15.
